Email Policy

Important Note: We do not have a Student Counseling Center email account and do not provide email counseling.

All questions and requests for personal help, counseling, therapy, or consultation should be directed to our main number: (812) 237-3939. Our Counseling Center does not respond to email requests for personal help, counseling, therapy, or consultation. Due to variations in work schedules, it may be days (or weeks) before an email account is checked. Please refer to the following links for additional information about contacting the counseling center during normal business hours or after-hours.

  • Fees for counseling will be based on the number of sessions used, with a maximum charge of $60.  This primarily covers counseling (Individual, Group, and Couple’s counseling) and use of the psychiatrist during the fall and spring semesters.
  • As noted, the first 3 sessions of counseling are free.
    • Students who are seen for 4-6 sessions will be charged $30.
    • Students who use 7 sessions or more will be charged an additional $30.
  • Please note that students seeking services during the summer will be allowed 3 free sessions after which they will be charged $30 to cover the remainder of the summer.
  • Paying the fee does not entitle students to see the psychiatrist.  Psychiatric referral is done on a case-by-case basis and must be facilitated by the student’s counselor.  As noted on the consent form; to see the psychiatrist the student must be actively seeing a counselor within the Counseling Center.
  • The fee for counseling will reset at the beginning of each academic year.
  • The number of sessions is counted at the end of each semester for accurate billing and are billed to the student's account the following semester. (For example, sessions are counted at the end of December and billed in January.)
